Batteries In My Electronics Die Fast

The battery on my phone dies after just two or three short conversations. My laptop is no longer mobile because I  have to keep it plugged into an outlet. Yes, I only charged them when the battery was low or when the phone asked me to. I also didn't leave them plugged in after they charge. If I wanted to replace those batteries, would i find super batteries that will last longer?
